Momo's birthday V.1

When school finally closed for a three week break, I thought I was finally able to take a breather. But no... endless deadlines, work, plus having to deal with Vpost and Christmas shopping, shopping for a new size XXL wardrobe to fit all our clothes... argh. I mean, Christmas's awesome, but what I thought I would get was a free break. Free. Like, post Os. Or post PSLE. Nothing to do, leaving you free and unadultered to bum weeks away.

Anyway, Happy Birthday Momo! (Ok, take today as yesterday)
We had a two day celebration ha ha. It was really warm and fuzzy (:

Anyway, the actual present I got for Momo is still in the States and unlikely to drop by before her birthday or Christmas so I got a new phone for Momo! Mych and I shared but I bought another one for myself just because the blinged Razr decided to go blank on me, and the old Nokia that F used to use simply, just simply, didn't like me yakking on the phone.

Earlier today, Mych and I were stumped for what to get Momo.
There were only three things that we could get for her without her throwing them into the back of her closet.
1) Perfume
2) Designer bags
3) Jewellery

1) is out, because over time, it's become a bit of a cliche. 2) is also out, because I already got one for her (as in, one already intended for that purpose) and 3), nobody wants to go down to Tiffany's.

Then F asked us to get a mobile phone for her. It's quite ingenious actually, because the phone she is using now is the Samsung sidekick phone with touch screen, and in my opinion it's quite a irritating phone to use when you're in a hurry though less irritating than the iphone, and when she goes out of town, she NEVER gets reception on her phone. So she starts panicking and borrowing our phones (mine useless too) all around to call home.

So we decided to get her a fuss-free phone with excellent reception. But somehow it seemed rather irrational because whatever 'fuss-free' phone we get her will be a degradation from her current irritating phone. Still...

We got her a LG Ice Cream phone.

Vanilla for her, Strawberry for me!
Haha I know it looks really un-hightech-thingamajig and dumb but it's really cute! LG phones always have all the cute useless things that other practical brands don't. And I don't really want a high tech and fidgety phone right now so it's perfect. But now I can't decide if I wanna stick crystals on its baby pink patent case or not.

(Digressing)
I googled for the phone and ...
It's so weird that almost every page had this 2 girls. Maybe they're the ambassadors but it still looked weird. I can't even find nice pictures of the phones.

Photos!!

Day 1 (which is yester yesterday)

Momo looked so excited and happy for once in ages... I like her this way.

Haha so cute :D

This is her i-just-have-a-teeny-weeny-fear-of-heights face. When we went inside the capsule, she promptly sat down on the bench thing and never left it till the ride ended.

Haha my parents are so cute

Bonding over soccer

Happy birthday Momo!

Emo nemo.

She's so happy and that makes me super happy

My dad = super fun

Qt/F/Mr Dimple

Everytime I wear this top I have this weird urge to flounce around in it.

Emo nemo dad

So scared she started gabbing on the phone

I have a nutty sister.

Ok I know this pic my hand looks wrong.

Haha in this one my mom's the only one who looks sane

Er. I also have a nutty brother.

Ok we are ALL nutty.

After the ride we had dinner at Angus House. F and I just ate there a couple of days ago and F was still raving about their steak so...

But this time round it was better cos we had a private room

I know it doesn't show up nice in pictures but it's so pretty and quaint and white.

One thing I don't get though: why do they use towels (or towel-looking things) as table mats?

Hungry

Yummy oysters

Haha Momo still looking happy

Some fish thing for appetizer

Cream of carrot soup - I didn't like it so traded with F for minestrone

My 250g tenderloin. I asked for medium well but I think the waitress only heard medium and it came super rare in the middle. Tasted like chewing raw beef from the fridge. Sent it back and I got a new more cooked one.

Dad made me take a photo of his lobster set. I had this the first time round and it was hands down the best lobster I've had. So fresh and... fluffy.

Yummy tiramisu for dessert

Made dad drive the long way home to stop off and get some frozen yoghurt.
Byesy.

Photos from Sheik Haikel's birthday party at Zouk. Way overdue. Didn't stay there long, but F and I shared a tray of apple shooters. Chemical cretins, that's what they are.

My hair looks weird in the second picture though. Whatever. This is the hairstyle I've kept the longest. These photos were taken like... I think at least 2 months back and I'm still in this same hair. I usually get bored and go to the hairdresser's like, every month. Haha.

Whatev I needa study for medsoc boo.

Ok, so am loading Scary Movie 3 to watch while shredding my white tank later.

Today woke up late and realised the folks once again abandoned F and I. However we left for Marina Sq for dinner with the Godfamily. (Godbrother, Benjamin's birthday) at some sukiyakiyoki that Momo saw on telly. (I know)

BUT IT WAS AWESOME. Ok maybe not the whole no-reservations-so-the-1.5hours-wait, not the food BUT THE ICE CREAM PART OF IT.

So like, there's two parts of the dinner. First you have steamboat and bbq buffet, (the food sucked but the soup base's awesome possum) THEN you change to the ice cream table. Pictures are not with me cos er. Forgot it in when whole family was yelling ARE YOU DONE?? at me. Not funny.

There's this cold thing that looks like a nicer version of the bbq part, and you get creamy liquids served in glasses that's supposed to BECOME the ice cream. You also get spatula thingies, that help you MAKE YOUR OWN ICE CREAM!

Awesome, it was just like my own real life Cooking Mama.

Had to take this pic off FT cos it is no longer on Topshop's website. Boo.

Anyway, am pretty sad cos after being so happy, thinking about it throughout dinner and returning to Topshop after we were done to get it, the studded boots' smallest size was a 6. And it wasn't a small size either, I could fit into a size 3 in that cutting man... It looked so fab and was totally comfortable and had a price range in the healthy hundreds. So I delibrated. It will be my 5th pair of ankle boots. And yes, Life is so rad it just have to do this to me once I've decided.

By the way, what's up with Topshop and all it's Chinese National workers?!?!?
**Take today as er, yesterday.**

Ok so today was one of those woke-up-on-wrong-side-of-bed days.

Woke up at 3pm and hey, no one's home. Funny, since I came home last night to hang out with my folks. Bummed around with F till were both starving. So coming to the revelation that the 'rents are not returning anytime soon we headed to NorthPoint's extension mall.

For the first time in a long time, ate HK Cafe. Food wasn't satisfying - which made my day even worse cos I HATE wasting calories or disappointing foods (i.e. food that you don't go woah... when you eat it and pine when you've finished it). Feeling bored and dissatisfied F and I walked around. Ok. Walked around, as in. The bare 3 levels of the extension. Wow. All kitschy shops like Jean Accessories. Ha ha. Ok wait no, Jean accessories is good for hairpins.

On the 4th level, F and I were so excited at the new library! Although it was a little... well little. Lots of kids and oldies yadda yadda. Indifferent, we persevered in our fruitless search for GG and Zoey Deans. Sighted 3 boorish looking morons. (Normally don't notice this kind of vermin but they were talking too loud in a too quiet library to not notice)

BLM 1: 'Yadda yaddas about girl with boyfriend'

BLM 2: Aiyah look att hur skin lahz. Lateh pass to uz.

BLM 3: 'Giggles'

I SWEAR, I have never been so hurt in my entire life. Seriously, I was just having an allergy reaction, which happens when I eat seafood. And HELLO, I CAN HEAR YOU. And so can the 23982479812 people around me. Honestly, I was stunned and appalled because besides being extremely rude and ignorant, it was just so CRUEL.

(Digression: At that moment, I was having a total epiphany about how black people must feel when they get discriminated against and people tell them LOVE WHO YOU ARE and WE ARE ALL THE SAME but it doesn't help a notch, actually.)

Anyway, before I could unleash the torrent of stuff like OH DON'T COME NEAR ME I DON'T WANT YOUR POOR PEOPLE'S GERMS AND TALKING ABOUT INFECTIOUS, THAT THING ON YOUR NECK LOOKS NASTY. OH SORRY, WHAT? IT'S YOUR HEAD? MY BAD, MAN. OH WAIT, YOUR BAD, YOU SCARED ME FIRST F pulled me away in search of James Patterson (he didn't notice them).

They had like those weird rebonded hair that weird loser guys go for? Erm. Like. Weird loser guys who think that they're girls? Something like that. And one of them was fat. (I don't discriminate against fat people, they stomp on my dinky toes first. ) and the last one... Jesus Christ, Nottie exist in Singapore! And they had this aura around them that goes 'I am just hanging around here cos in case any ah lians come, they can walk around and pretend to look for children's books, and then i can ask for their numbers. why yes, of course i can read, i'm here to check out if there's an easier alphabets book. Heh.'

Anyway, I gave them the finger.

On Friday, F and I were in town for some Cotton On shopping!

If you're wondering why I'm so excited - it's because I don't usually go into Cotton On and recently I just keep seeing the exercise shorts, you know the one that looks like a posher version of FBTs? And I just HAD to get them.

There was so many people it caused a lack of oxygen.

I hate crowds, especially when I'm shopping but for those cute shorts, I held on. And i bought two pairs - size 6 denim and black plain ones. Was kind of disappointed, cos I wanted the nautical print one but there was only size 12. Bought two tanks too.

Amazingly, when the counter rang them up it was ALL on half price! So everything was for ten bucks.

And I saw a malay girl in front of me walking off with her stuff INSIDE a canvas bag... and I just had to ask for one too.

When the guy scanned the bag then I realised it was another charity gimmick and I just paid 2 bucks for a cheap canvas bag.

OH WAIT!
I have another rant.

Ok, so yours truly have zipped up a pair of Size Zero (0) Abercrombie jeans ok, and on average wears about US size 2, and UK 6. So imagine my horror when I went home (couldn't be bothered to try on the clothes there cos the queue was a tired, grouchy snake) and the size 6 fitted like short tights. Quite cute la, like those retro bike shorts Momo always wears, but I wanted them to be loose and cute and comfy. Was feeling extremely fat and all. Z.

WTF PUHLEAZE. ISN'T AUSSIE SIZING BIGGER?
(Sorry, just had to say that)

It's nearly 7am, I'm out.
